Default Blown outlaw engine

Hey guys iv got a deal on a outlaw 500 with a possible blown motor the guys selling it said it doesnt run and he thinks he blew the motor. Im wondering what i would pay to have the engine rebuilt and what i should pay for the bike.

This may or may not be a "deal" depending on what all has to be done to the engine and what was the damaged. The only way to know for sure is to disassemble it to find out. No one can give you an estimate on what the cost would be until then.Parts for this engine aren't exactly cheap either.

Pretty easy to get upwards of 2K in parts for these things, and labor aint cheap either if you are paying someone to do the work. On the other hand, you may be able to find a motor on e-bay or sitting around a shop, etc. Knowing how big a money pit these motors can be, a machine that isn't running is worth little more than scrap to me.

be careful about so called "deals".Him saying he might have blew the motor is a vague term.theres a differece between smakcing a valve and ruining a head or putting a rod through the cases.i wouldnt touch it unless you can get it almost free.
