I'm planning on tearing into the Sport during the next few days to replace the top end. While it is apart, I'm sending the cylinder, head and carb to RCR for his mods.

How long will it take to get it apart? Any secrets or surprises I should know about before I start wrenching?

 

Mine is at RcR right now!
About a hour to get it apart and ready for shipping.
Mine is at Rick's now, Can't wait to get it back together!

 

is there instructions anywhere out there for the tear down procedure or is the service manual the best way to go? any places where to get it?

I'm putting mine back together this weekend after having it bored, ported, and headwork. I can't wait. Tearing it down doesn't require a manual just keep track of your nuts & bolts & take off your front plastic, airbox, carb & exhaust and your basically done.

 

Please leave a post to let us know how it works with the porting and head mods. Did you have the carb bored also?
