03 sportsman 700 Water Pump seal help
I am getting water in my oil. No Antifreeze smell and does not smoke. I am going to attempt to change the waterpump seal. I keep seeing I have to change the oil seal That is supposed to be behind the water seal but can not find it in any parts diagrams for my year and model.
I have the repair manual but it does not show an oil seal there either.
The manual tell how to put the water pump seal in but not how to take it out.
Here is a very good step by step but it is for a 2006
Water Pump Seal and Oil Seal Replacement on 2006 Sportsman 700 - Pics Inside - Polaris ATV Forum
Am I missing something for my 2003?
Will I still have to drill and use a gear puller to get the water seal out?
Or is this just a job that is just above my head.
Any help is appreciated.

You do it this way and you stand a chance on bending the water pump shaft! The complete outer cover needs to come off after you pull the fly wheel and stator and move it out of the way. The oil seal just pops out at the rear,w/p seal knocks out and you can use a large socket to seat the new w/p seal. Then the cover is replaced. I've had to deal with bent shafts several times when people attempted short cuts! Oil seal is listed behind the cover. This cover just pulls of after a few bolts making seal replacement easy.Item #8 plus you'd need a new case gasket.Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Honda, Arctic Cat & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse
