Default 800 stalls when in water

Recently my 2005 800 has started stalling when I get into water, it completely shuts down.... however I hold the throttle, and it wakes back up and goes right back to pulling. The water is not insanely deep. I'm 6'1 and it (water) comes right above my knee. What in the world could this be? OPT, what do you think???

Check for any leaks around the throttle body adapter to the head, boot to air box and air box itself. Could be sucking in water. Plus if you're going to play around in water use electrical grease on connections/fuse block and fuses and everything else to help water proof it.

air leak. start and idle, spray with brake cleaner all over carb, boot, intake and motor till u find the leak, it will die when the cleaner hits the leak.
