2003 700 clutch kit

Has anyone tried or have any input about the dalton clutch kit for the 02-04 700 sportsmans? I just bought the atv and it's got stock clutching and 28" mudlights. Atleast the primary spring is the stock one, but I know it shouldn't be with bigger wheels/tires. Anybody have one or have riden one with it or any of dalton's clutch kits? I know dalton is a very reputable company so I wouldn't think it would be a crap kit. I guess I'm just looking for something to justify this kit over the higher priced EPI kit for bigger tires/mud riding.

I have the Dalton in my 850XP. Great kit, weights are adjustable, and easy to install.
Mine came with the secondary spring as well, great kit, highly recommend. I also run 28" tires, made a big difference.

Awesome! Did you notice any loss anywhere? Did it raise the engagement much? How does it compare new to told performance-wise? I know the 850 is a different machine, but gains and losses are just that. I found a website fettbros.com and they had one for the 700 for $99 when pretty much everywhere else has them listed for over $200. I know I couldn't even buy the flyweights for that.

I run 28" Outlaws which are heavy. You could feel a decrease in power when I put them on. The clutch kit brought it back to life. Engagement is a bit higher, very smooth, and it pulls way harder on the low end. Also doing the secondary too, shifting up and down through the entire RPM range is right where it needs to be. Plus the Dalton is totally adjustable, you don't even need to remove the clutch to do it.

I did order it but I've been busy changing all the rotted bushings and loose stuff that should be tight. The link to what atv clutching they have is ATV Performance Parts & Clutch Springs in MN | Fett Brothers Performance They don't have a whole lot in the way of atv stuff but they seem to be a good business. No problems with ordering, paying, or getting it here in a hurry! I did get to ride it a little bit before I started taking everything apart and it did help quite a bit on the bottom end and the backshift is definitely improved as well. I didn't get a chance to stretch it out because of worn out bushings, ball joints, and tie-rod ends, but I imagine i will have lost a little up there but I didn't buy it to go fast.
