The 570 has only been for the 2014 current model yet it has amassed a reliability reputation in a matter of months?
Polaris has been using Fuji motors for over 25 Years in there ATVs and Snowmobiles.

The Prostar 570 came over from tne RZR line up, it has proven itself.

The 550 Fuji has proven itself to be an unreliable money pit. Heads and valves, complete top end jobs. Do a google search, you will be shocked at what you see.

Ever stop to think why the Value line got the 570, and not the XP? A much more solid reliable chassis for one...

Thanks for all the replies. I put the EBS on my 500 Scrambler and have never regretted it. Was only $300 15 yrs ago. I did wear out the primary and replaced it a few yrs back. That was one of my concerns with the 400. I got a great price on one in Ky. if the bank comes thru. I just needed some thoughts regarding power. Would really kick myself if I went backwards in the power dept. Also was shocked to see the battery location on the 570. What moron put the battery out in the open to be covered in crap and submerged all the time? No rocket scientist at this address, but come on!!

Andhave you seen where the battery i on the Value models? Left rear wheelwell, never been an issue. The battery on the 500X2 is in the same location as the 570, not an issue.

Not worth worrying about.

I love my 400, @30 hp, I am more than happy. But, if the bank comes through, get the 570, @44hp, you will be happy for years to come.

I used the difference between the 400 & 500 to pay for a winch. But if I were buying today, 570 all the way.

I've heard nothing but good things about the Sportsman 400, even on other brand web sites. 570's are so new, there arn't many people talking about them much yet.

I'm curious how someone who has neither a 570 or a 550 would feel well enough enformed to share opinions about either. I have a KQ 750, a 650 Prairie, and a 2012 non EPS 550 XP. The 550 XP is the best of the bunch in many many way's (not power but it's no slouch). I'm not saying it's worth what they are charging, but it's an excellent ATV.

Aside from the Prostar, the new cluster, and tweaks to the plastics, the 570 is identical to the other value models.

I have an awesome dealer, spent a lot of e looking the 550. My friend's neighbour bought one, called it the biggest mistake he ever made. Between the garbage bushings on the xp, the head issues the 550 has had, and all the frame cracks, no way I wil ever own one. Either the classic value line, or another brand.

I'd go 570. I personally wouldn't buy a new atv with a carb but then again, I wouldn't want struts either

The 570 is an EFI fuel system-wise. They introduced it when they made the RZR 570 a couple years ago. Haven't heard a complaint about them and they are pretty good in the heavier RZR. Son and a buddy's son rented them out in Utah to do the Paiute Trail. The weren't the fastest rig out there but they handled the 10,000 ft. elevations without a hiccup. They drove them for 4 days at elevations from around 6,000 ft. to almost 11,000.

Efi sure would not be my biggest concern. I always had a carbed ATVs and the always start up and go anytime and anywhere.
I rode many EFI ATVs and have a 800R E tech Ski-Doo. You sure do not feel any difference vs a carb while riding them.
Might be a issue if riding in the Himalaya's.

Now ,IRS, a true AWD system, low range and hydraulic rear disk brake is something you can actually feel.

The difference in efi is felt thru the throttle response. You absolutely can feel the difference. My 700 and outlander have electriconic throttle sensors instead of a cable. No half second throttle delay and I can ride from sea level to 10,000 feet above without any sputtering, backfiring or noticable loss of power. I don't have any problems with carbs, I have quite a few carbed atvs and dirtbikes, it's just that when starting below 10 degrees, the efi purrs right up. Carbs have a reputation for being reliable, but efis has proven to be extremely durable as well. I haven't heard of any FI problems from any manufacturer and it's a lot less maintenance once the years go by. 1 injector is extremely simple. the only advantage of a carb is that it can be bump started or pull started with a dead battery but I'm not sure if polaris has a backup pull starter.
