Default Temperature Switch for 300 2-stroke

I need a temperature switch (P/N 4010211) for a '95 Polaris 300 4X4. This model is a 2-stroke and is fan cooled. The fan is turned on when the temperature switch hits 260 degrees (located behind the head). This part is no longer available. The next closest part is a 4010284, but I don't know if the mounting is the same. The part number is different, so something about the part is probably different. Can anyone help me out here?

My opinion this switch and especially the location of it is junk.. Behind the engine on the motor mount bracket is not an accurate place for one plus almost all the ones I encountered ended up shattering from the vibration. Fans barely kicked on anyway unless they were super hot hence the 260 degree sensor. I'd just go to any auto store, take the sensor and find a replacement if you want to keep it hooked up,or just simply have it on a toggle that you can turn the fan on when under loads or very slow riding. A lot of oil cooled machines don't even have fans and get along fine. Even the 325 and 330 4 stroke fans with the sensors on the oil coolers didn't kick on that much, rarely even got one hot enough at the shop to kick one on.
