Default 2004 Polaris Sportsman 400, Good Deal

Hello Everybody,
I'm brand new and wanted to introduce myself and get some advice.
I'm looking to buy my first ATV, mainly as a way to get around my farm.

I found a 2004 Polaris Sportsman 400 for $2200. It has 350 hours and 2800 miles. It has a winch and a second seat as well. It has been driven by a hunter, and the second seat has been used for his kids. Looks like it has been used, but nothing overtly frightening. Is this a good deal?

I would rather wait and get something nicer than get something that I am going to have to be putting a lot of money into for maintenance. I don't need it do much, just driving around my farm.

Glad to be part of the community, I hope I can be contributor one day rather than just an asker.
Thanks in advance.

Default Honda foreman

If you are looking for a good 4wheeler to use on the farm I would not suggest a polaris. I would suggest the Honda foreman has very good power and very reliable

Default good advice on the Honda

I got a Polaris 500 with 121 hours and 400 miles for free and it was a really bad deal , over a $1,000 and numerous hours and headaches later and it still has problems , I have a slew of Hondas and they hardly every break and when they do it is trivia , Polaris is not a good bike unless your funds and time are unlimited

If you find a machine and you're happy with it,that's all that matters. Looked for the perfect atv regardless of brand and haven't found one yet. All have fallen a little short at one time or another as the saying goes.ATVSafety.gov Recalls

What do you guys think of a 2005 Honda Rancher at with score plow and extra wheels and tires and a plow for $3400. I'm thinking Honda might be the way to go simply for reliability. This one has 2600 miles.
Thanks for everyone's input.
