Has anyone any problems with their steering post. I was washing my TB after riding Sunday and notice that the steering post is secure by 2 rivets at the bootom of the steering post. It really doesn't appear to be that strong and allows for some play. Is this normal? Does an aftermarket system bolt in or rivet? Thanks

The whole steering system has been given a once over on 2001 machines. 2000 models and older have the problem with the post and bushing at the bottom. The post will bend easily in a roll over due to the mild metal it is made from. And the bushing is sloppy, to say the least. You can get a new bushing that will cure your problem from HPD, Hot Seat, and RCR. They run about $35.
You can also get a new post if you need it.
