Default 96 scrambler transmission taken apart, now trying to find problem

hi guys. my 96 scrambler 400 4x4 is giving me problems again. my transmission is skipping when i accelerate hard or under load like in puddles. so ive finally decided to take it apart and have a look. what a job that was! (but thats another story).
anyway here is a picture

one thing caught my eye immediately, the rounded edges on this gear. are they supposed to be like that? do you think this could that be causing the skip?

thank again for any help

upon further inspection this morning i noticed the silent chain is very loose. i guess thats the culprit. (although i'm sure you guys have been telling me that from the start) at last!(i listen)

havent been able to ride the thing like its supposed to be ridden, cuz ive had to be really gentle with the throttle recently (or it would skip)

look out when its fixed...

Gears are somewhat beveled from the factory, but if you find shiny worn gears I'd replace them. Plus look at the locking lugs on each gear for excessive wear. 95% of the time though all you have to replace is the silent chain because of too much slack and the transmission seals.
