Default 2005 polaris sportsman v twin 700 efi

Hi Guys ,I'm new to this site. I am looking at a Polaris 2005 700 efi with 2000kms on it (1200 miles)it needs a front axle rear caliper and it won"t start since it was stored a few months ago. the Quad has no lights, power to speedo and won't boost completly dead. He wanted $2000 for it and I asked for his best price and he came back at $1200. if I get it for a $1000 could i loose?

personally I would walk away, as it can become a money pit by the sounds. Even at $1k it might not be that good of a deal if it has internal and electrical issues as depending on the front end it could be a lot of money spent out. just my .02
