Default another solenoid question

I just mounted my sw Terra 35 winch on my atv. I decided to use the solenoid that came with it instead of the warn previous installed. Now I cannot find a good place to install it on my 2006 Polaris magnum...any suggestions???

Under the front panel if you have room, the tool box,or even where they used to install the older winch commutators,on the frame up from the battery.Several different places you can mount it,but you might have to have longer wiring.

The directions say to mount it near the battery but I found a good place on the winch mount. I really don't want to drill holes in my storage boxes. The only way I will be able to mount it under the front panel is if I make a custom mounting bracket.

I have mounted a few of them on the frame it self by the battery box. but you do not have to be that close to the battery as they mentioned in the directions. I too did not want to drill holes in my storage box. pretty much any where you see good mounting place is fine. my self I try to put it so it does not get direct mud/water thrown on it.

I have a bumper on the back of my magnum so I was going to mount it to that but its in the open. I didn't want to drill any holes in the frame. So I am now using my warn solenoid . its tucked up in an area so it doesn't get wet. The solenoid that came with the sw is tall so its difficult to find a big enough place to put it. I was going to put it under the panel under my storage box but there is no room. The solenoid for my warn is brand new so it should be fine.

You will be fine with either solenoid. As said, don't worry about being too close to the battery. I'm busy installing a 4500 terra to my Sportsman, however I've removed one stage of planetary gears to make it a little faster and knock it down to 3000lbs.

I like the superwinch better than my warn already. It is much faster and more quiet. I tested it by pulling a old john Deere farm tractor onto a trailer.
