Default 01 500ho??

A friend found an 01 500HO with 149 miles on it for sale. Aside from neglect/abuse, what should he look for?

Did the 500HO have the Ducati ignition like the 600?

Nope, didn't have the Ducati system. Plus had the HO improved cam and larger carb.Usually dependable model.Main problem I had from the 01 and 02 models were clutch creeping, but not all did. If it's been neglected and abused, then there's plenty more atvs out there to look at. Hopefully with only 149 miles might be a bargain for a 14 year old machine. Condition means more than year model and price people are asking might reflect it. Just use KBB as a general guide. Sometimes you have to throw book prices away if machines are in above average condition as book prices show prices for ones that have been used often. Kelley Blue Book

A 149 miles is a tank and a half of gas. Was it abused while parked? Mine has almost 4000 miles.
