Harmonic balancer puller. You can rent these at almost all auto houses for a refundable deposit. Here's an example on a 700 flywheel in a dune buggy, but same principle on how to pull the flywheel. You need a 1/2" impact...

I might just buy one now that I know for sure. They can be had for cheap on amazon. I'm replacing the seals. Then I'm going to do a compression test, then possibly a top end depending on the test. I'm stripping it down anyway for a frame up rebuild.

I ordered one. I'm having trouble getting the flywheel off. I'll figure something out. I'm still waiting for my new clutch tool anyway, but the rebuild has officially started today.

If a flywheel is hard to get off use a little heat from a propane torch around the center of the flywheel and often times it will pop off while under pressure.

Yea I been but I've been scared of the heat around that area. I broke the bolts I bought. I'm thinking about tapping them out to an 8mm bolt see if that helps. Those 6mm bolts were stretching like rubber. I tried both hand tools and air impact...I'll get it lol.

Use grade 8 bolts, put it under pressure and use plenty of heat around the crank shaft. Tap the end of the puller bolt straight on a couple times. Flywheel should pop off.

Sometimes cheap imported bolts will be marked grade 8 when they're really grade 5, or grade 5 when they're really grade 2. If they have both U.S. and Chinese bolts at the store, get the American made no matter what they cost. A little pocket change can make a big difference in what you get. In metric sizes it looks like Class 10.9 is ~= to grade 8, and Class 8.8 would be in the neighborhood of grade 5.

I finally got it. What's the thread size and pitch on the crank and flywheel nut?
