So I got a 98 sportsman 500 and it ran really nice without the fuel pump hooked up besides at half throttle it would cut out. So I ordered a new fuel pump and hooked it up. Now it won’t start it pops but shuts right off. I double checked my location of each hose on the fuel pump and can’t figure it out man lol

 

Hi , Is my fuel pump bad, fuel drains to carb even when engine is off. If petcock is set to ON or Reserve, fuel still drains to card. Does fuel pump add pressure to line?
