I run a Polaris Ranger 500, and have bought chains for the icy conditions I deal with in winter plowing. Should I adjust the tire pressure when I install the chains?

 

Deflate the tires to get them on and fill them up to get the chains snug. You really only need them on the rear not all 4.

My neighbour plows his drive way with a 2wd ATV with chains and a sand bag on the back rack for weight and does a good job. Chains really bit into hard packed snow and ice.

 

Perhaps I didn't word this right: should I still run at the recommended tire pressure, or should I run the tires a bit on the harder or softer side of that?

 

Inflate the tires until the chains are snug , what PSI the is not important for just plowing.

 

I've been looking on line for awhile now and can't seem to find any chains for my tires(24x11-12). Anyone know where I can find them?
