sport vs warrior

There are a couple of major differences between a Sport and the Warrior.
One is weight. The sport is almost 80 Lbs heavier. That is a lot of weight! I have seen a Warrior jump 6-10 feet high and land on a flat surface, but I wouldn't want to see that on the sport!
The other is the throttle response because of the belt compared to a manual clutch transmission. The Warrior will be a little easier to manouver in rough terrain because of the ability to 'blip' over certain areas. The ability to downshift comes stock with the warrior. I understand that you can get pretty good downshifting with a Roller Clutch on the sport.
They are really two different machines.
The Sport can be pretty exciting in the sand because of its belt drive and that 36hp engine. A few mods and that beast can get to 60hp! The roost would be outstanding!
Unfortunately, the warrior doesn't have that kind of power in the stock form.
In the suspension area, I have to go with the Warrior for sport riding. It also doesn't have to work as hard because it is lighter.
My Scrambler suits my Girlfriend just fine. she can keep up on the straight aways and it's automatic.
Like I said, they are both different machines. One has more power and weight, the other handles better. Whatever you want.

I have a 99 400 scrambler and a friend got a 2000 warrior(deep blue). I and he both agree, the warrior is better for jumps, wheelies(when we do them), and slow downhills or really rocky trails. Although I've gone anywhere he has and he already had to coast downhill because it was that rough and slow. We both agree that the scrambler will wipe up the warrior in quickness, top end, hill climbs, cornering, and even though everyone bashes the auto, when he can't get the right gear on a loose silty tight curve, he either falls way behind or he eats my dust. Also, the scrambler is a bigger and heavier bike, and has an excellent suspension system, so it is a little more comfortable for those 20-30 mile trail rides. We both have driven each other's bikes and are both happy we own what we own, and don't put down the other. One isn't better than the other, they're just different, each one appealling to different segments.
