I have heard that about the 2014 Sportsman 570 models. Usually the first model year of a machine there will be a few issues but man that was a bad introduction. I'd like to think Yamaha did their homework on the new Kodiak and Grizzly models but I'm sure there will be some issues as well with the brand new 708cc engine also in the Wolverine R-Spec as well. I think Polaris rushed their 2014 570 a bit to get it into production. The 2015 and 2016 models don't seem to have the same engine problems. I guess that's what a warranty is for.

I don't know about that with Yamaha. They actually have a good history of new model introductions and having few issues.

The Grizzly 660 when first introduced had problems I remember. Yamaha had to modifiy the plastic panels on the sides with vents because the new 660 engine was overheating. Once they did that, the problem seemed to be solved. And I'm sure everyone in here is aware of the problems of the first year of the Raptor 660 and the clutch problems it had. When Yamaha stepped up to the 700cc versions of both of those quads in 2006 with the Raptor and 2007 with the Grizzly 700, I don't recall any issues.

Exactly, you have to go back 10 plus years to find any big issues with a Yamaha introduction. Even then they have been good about admitting and fixing issues. Some manufacturers an early production run is something to be wary about, not so much Yamaha.

The 660 overheating plagued yamaha for years. They had gas boiling in the tank was a pain. The small rads were their biggest problem.

I've owned more than one 660 and never had a problem with gas boiling. If the radiator gets caked with mud, they will get hot but any other liquid cooled atv will as well.

I think the problem of gas boiling in the Grizzly 660 was only in places hotter than Hades like the southwest and southern states. My friend here in Michigan got the upgrade anyway and never had that problem.
