I am pretty hard on my machine but here are some pics of used SS212 wheels that I have ruined from mudding. All it takes is a few good holes ....and a small swap.
More reason to make larger ITP DELTA steel.

the really bad thing on these rims and it could have been tire size is hitting the outer rim. As soon as i got on the trail i knew the rim edges were getting tore up.
Had it not been the edge getting chewed up i would have had the wheels powder coated here for $275 and just done that every few years. At least with the beadlocks i ordered i can replace the ring... powder coat the rim and be done.

I run hyper on my xc racer. A whole season of wear and tear and they look like new with $40.00 worth of rings. They have to come off to change tires anyway. Metal rings you could buff out and repaint. They may still have some damage but will look good from a few feet away. And regular steelies are not as strong as a beadlock.
