Question 2002 Sportsman 700 Carb problems

I ran low on gas the other day & motor sputtered trying to climb a hill.Switched to reserve & did same thing. Now when I run on flat surface I can go wide open for a few seconds & then starts sputtering.Let off throttle & hit again & does same thing.Like starving for gas.
Does it have a filter that could be clogged? If I drain fuel from carb, take off gas line,& then blow through drain do you think it might do any good?
Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Check the intake manifold as the 700s had a bad habit on splitting right under the carb clamp. Hard to see unless you pull the clamp off and check. Has an inline filter leading the carb. Items#1-7 on the parts list. Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Polaris, Suzuki & Kawasaki OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse You can pull the line from the carb and crank the engine over to see if fuel flow is ok from the pump. One last thing... If the fuel flow is good, carb is clean, jets open and ok,but still has a problem on running,it could be ignition related if you still have the original Ducati ignition. Many 700 ignitions failed. There is a Kokusan updated kit that replaces this ignition system.

Saw cracks in intake hose. For now have put Permatex around it.Now,if I spray carb cleaner around it nothing happens.
Where is the fuel filter on ATV?

Thanks.
Let me rephrase my problem. At high throttle the motor boggs like starving for gas.Still runs but boggs down.

Did you ever pull the fuel line at the carb and crank the engine over to see if the fuel pump is pumping?? If fuel flow is good have you taken the carb apart to check for any stopped jets? Bogging down can be caused by either of these or still could be ignition related.. Just a process of elimination until you find the problem.
