Scrambler 50 throttle problem
#11
I've been out running around with the ATV now this evening and it is obvious that it works better with the throttle when it is cold (the engine) . but as soon as it gets warm , it works the throttle more as a switch , idle full throttle or no throttle! may this give us a clue whats wrong?

There is a small etc switch in the throttle that could be acting up.I'd open the top of the throttle housing, check the switch wiring and make sure you don't have too much slack at the thumb throttle. For 5 bucks the manual might help you better on tracing down the problem. Predator,Outlaw,Sportsmans are all the same.2002 Polaris Predator 50 Service Manual PDF Download

Wire seems to be ok, no slack
The carb

Look at the carb slide.. Unless you have your thumb on the throttle the carb slide should be lower. Either the idle adjuster at the carb or the cable slack needs to be adjusted.

My English is not that good but you mean that I have to adjust the carb slide either at the carb itself or by the throotle- Wire? How low should it be?

It just looks like the throttle slide is to high if no pressure is on the throttle.. IF you're having problems on wide open throttle when running, try lowering the slide by turning out the middle screw on the carb which lowers the slide and see if you can get a slow steady idle first. Plus I hope you have the air box and filter..
