Compression.. Check that's it's at least over 100 psi and if it is,still could be a crank seal problem from sitting with fuel in the crank case. Has to have good top end compression and able to compress the fuel air mixture in the crank case for ignition.

Is the bike getting enough gas? Check the switch on the side of the gas tank that says on, off, reserve. Turn the fuel off, take gas line off the nipple, and turn the gas off to make sure it is not plugged up. Also check to make sure it has fire again. I went to look at a three wheeler the other day that had sat for a year and it had fire at first but then lost fire after we had it running. Could be a short in the wiring even know I doubt that's the problem. Take the spark plug out and poor a little gas in the engine, put spark plug back in and try starting it. If it does start it is not getting enough gas so my guess would be a clogged gas line or the on off switch on the tank is plugged. Also put fresh gas in the tank first it will help ignite better.

When you pulled the flywheel to replace the stator ( magneto ), did you notice if it had a woodruff key? If so, did you re-install it and ensure the flywheel/crank are in time? Which Explorer do you have...engine wise?

If the bike has fire take the spark plug out, poor gas in the engine and see if it will start. This might take acouple try's before it starts but it should work. I had to do it to a three wheeler the other day and got it running no problem when the other guy couldn't. If this works then you k ow for sure it is not getting enough gas.
