Default Wiring Help

Hey All.

In the midst of putting new tires on, I got distracted into about ten different areas on the ATV, haha! Anyway, one area that has me perplexed is the wiring. I have 3 lights, two are a set of mini fog lights, and the main headlight in the cowl. The mini fogs no longer illuminate.

In tracing the wiring, I opened the cowl to find the mice just won't ever move out of there, no matter how many things I try. They are chewing through wires and the like. I have a small red wire, coming off of what I figure to be the starter, though I could be very wrong. That wire comes up into the cowl and is physically attached to a thicker red wire that goes to my cig lighter. It does not appear to be wired to the other wire, rather, attached through some little plastic doo-hickey. (I thought it might be one of these creations where you pierce through the jacket of both wires, thus you really are connecting the two wires electrically). Then the wire just stops...

Can you sort of tell me if this wiring looks right, or did the mice not only chew through the wire, but actually consumed a small length of wire??

The first pic is what I assume to be the starter with the thin red wire coming off of it. In the 2nd pic, the thin red wire comes up the side and sort of loops around to where it connects to the thicker red wire. pics attached, and thank you!

Looks like someone installed an aftermarket solenoid(winch I guess).. Red wires are powered at all times. Red/white wires have power only when the ignition switch is on. Best way is just take one wire at a time and repair it.Use a test light or meter. Or try to find a good used harness for your model on ebay. Had my share of field mice making homes in atvs. If you get frustrated enough or they're torn up too much, these models share the same harness.
