Default 1996 sportsman 500 rad relocation kit???

Iam looking to to move my rad because my 1996 sportsman overheats has soon as my rad gets a bit dirty. Has anyone done or know where I can get one for they older quad. I have looked online but can find any.

Have you made sure the radiator coils are clean to begin with? You may have to take it out and flush it good, especially around the back where they really get dirty and clogged with dirt over time. Plus have you purged any trapped air by jacking up the front end, leaving the radiator cap off and letting the fan cycle on and off several times to help remove air pockets? I admit the old fans on these weren't the greatest, but if the fan is working good, radiator is clean,it shouldn't be giving you that many problems. Plenty of the older ones still running around that don't over heat.

Ya I took the rad out and soaked it over night and all is good when it's clean but when I go play in the mud and it gets dirty then I start to over heat.

So if I could move it to the top rack that should fix the problem

Then sounds like you just need to fabricate a mounting bracket and longer hoses to mount it on top if you're a mud bug.Don't know if anyone makes a kit for one this old model, plus cheaper to do it yourself. Plus you can get a Spal fan instead of the little fan motor and blade and cool it off better.https://webstore.spalusa.com/en-us/p...rcycleatv.aspx
