One more question if I may.
I was told by a Polaris tech that the buttons in my clutch may be going. I thought it was a lifter noise, you can here at sitting at idle. But he said its the buttons in the clutch that may be wearing out. The bike runs and shifts fine but is this going to cause or is it causing problems?
Sorry for all the questions but I feel like a new dad here. I just bought this thing a few months ago and forget it's 13 years old and might have a few issues.
Thanks again.

Replace them before the spider towers really become grooved.. Then button replacement may not matter as far as noise,it make still click. I've has some roll into the shop that clattered like diesel engines. Tough telling someone that guide buttons wouldn't help and that a nee clutch was needed. You need a clutch tool to remove the clutch and a spider tool to tear the clutch down. Cheaper for a one time deal to have a dealer replace these and any other parts such as the one way washers while he's at it.Then hopefully the clutch will be trouble free for several more years.
