Default New battery location on 570

Thoughts and opinions on new location of the battery? I'm wondering why? Seems a bit exposed to me. What is the improvement gained? Operator access is going to be more intrusive for sure.

Thanks,

Had the battery down there on the X2 back in 2007 iirc. A little inconvenient when it came to changing one out,but most did ok. Main thing is to have battery tinder leads so it will last and always remove the neg lead first when removing the battery, hook up the positive lead first when installing one. That way you wont have to worry about wrench spark if it hits the frame.

I've seen this discussed before. I guess it looks like a terrible location but in reality, it doesn't seem to be much of a problem. I just think under the seat is the ideal location for any atv battery and should be pretty much universal for all brands.

Under the front rack is a good location too. It only takes a few seconds to take the rack off my friends' 850 or 1,000 Sportsman. But it doesn't seem to cause any problems where it is on the 570. It can't be any worse than under the rear fender covered with mud and that's never been a problem for me.

That's a better location than the older value models, left rear wheel well is a nasty spot.

Ride and enjoy it, your battery will be fine.

OK....so my eyes are getting old.....however I don't see a battery in that picture! I know probably some sort of optical illusion but...can someone point out the battery before I go nuts trying to find it?

Kymco, it's behind the rad reservoir. Of viewing on computer make image larger if on mobile stretch the picture may help a little.

OK thanks, I was going nuts trying to find a battery in there. Do have to agree with you there, I would not care for it down there either, seems like it would pick up road crud while riding.

May I can understand to center the weight some but after pulling it out yesterday trying to reach the battery at least on the left side pictured above is near impossible. I can see having to raise this up to get to it.

Never had any battery issues on my wife's 570. Much easier to remove/install with the tire off.
