Trailblazer ignition issues
Hello to all....
I have a 2002 trailblazer that will not run with the black ground wire connected to the chassis under the front hood where the electronics are.
I've replaced the ignition switch and same thing, will run with ground disconnected but as soon as you connect it, it dies. And yes, the kill switch is in the run position.
It also bogs a bit if you hammer on it, although it does idle pretty smoothly. I'm certain it needs a good carb cleaning, maybe rebuild, because it hasn't been run in a couple of years.
First things first, the ignition problem.
Thanks in advance for any and all info!!!!

Unplug the black wire from the reverse limiter module and see if you can plug the black wire from the cdi back in. If it still dies then the kill circuit in the cdi has shorted out. Either replace it,choke it down to kill it,or you can do as some have done and run the black wire through a toggle switch. The best way is the first way and that's replace it.. 34 bucks isn't too bad.DB Electrical - CDI Box Polaris ATV Trail Big Boss Xplorer 250 Many Years Plus 25 bucks for a good Japanese Shindy carb kit isn't too bad either.http://www.ebay.com/itm/POLARIS-TRAI...5UPWvo&vxp=mtr

Get a battery! This old magneto triggered system can start without the battery, but you need a battery for the starter, dash lights and headlights. Without the battery power from the regulator has to go somewhere and usually lights have the least resistance and can blow out. Plus do you have the air box and filter on? If not that can make a difference. Get the carb kit. Here's the fuel section from the manual that can help on the carbs.https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...U2gGlaHJWSIlbA Plus here's a few videos that can help.
