Is there a metal rear rack you can get to replace the plastic one on a 2011 500HO?I have a rear rack & a gun case that won't work well with plastic.

It would probably be something a mechanic or salesman at a Polaris dealer can tell you. Off the top of my head I can't remember what Polaris offered. If they had a bare bones Sportsman 450 in their value line they might have had a metal rack but I kind of doubt it. I did a search on eBay and didn't see anything. If you're a handyman type guy you might be able to fabricate some kind of mount for the factory Lock-n-Ride holes. It's a standard boat plug size. So, for a few bucks you can get a boat plug at Walmart and mount the tubing to it.

 

You can try aftermarket rack extensions. Polaris also sell them. If that's enough for the gun case to hold on to.

 

The rack extensions TLC showed are all they really have...
