500 to 500 ho carb swap
#1
Can I swap the stock 500 carb for an ho carb? Or is more complicated than that? I want to make sure the boots are the same size and anything else that might give me trouble. Oh and I do have the ho cam installed. Had a soft stocky. Thanks

You sure can it's a matter of getting the two boots on the carb to fit the larger 40mm vs your 34mm.
Many people made there own 500H.O before Polaris did in 2001. The installed the 500 scramblers high duration cam and it,s larger 40mm carb.
I know a guy who installed the hot cam but left the 34mm carb and he says the ATV runs great without jetting and he notice a power increase. I think the High duration cam was more important then the 6mm larger carb for the H.O's power increase.

Yes Dyno jet is one,but again just my two cents you're paying mostly for the titanium jet needle. The original carb jet sizes in the kits are scraped off and are remarked using their own sizing system. If you're not doing anything else leave the carb stock and enjoy it as is.Only way to make any appreciable hp gains is adding an exhaust, better air flow after one of these carb kits. And if you really have money to burn try these guys.Aaen Performance - Polaris ATV Four Stroke - ATV Accessories
