Default 2000 polaris magnum wont move when in gear

I've got a 2000 polaris magnum 500 4x4. I finally got it to crank up an run after several months of setting up. The problem happen when I went to take it for a drive around my yard I went to shift into 3rd gear an it stopped pulling. I noticed the rear drive shafts turns an when I Rev up the motor I can feel a tug like the quad is trying to move but it wont. Also when I have it in gear I can push the quad around. I don't know if it's a clutch problem or what

I'm pretty sure that machine is an automatic...so not sure I understand the shift into 3rd gear comment...I think you were referring to High on the transmission. If it moves fine in Low and Reverse then I'd suspect your transmission...if it doesn't move in any transmission setting then the clutches need servicing...IMHO

Magnum 500 just had low, high and reverse. Guess you're talking about an Expedition 425 with the 5 speed manual?? Most common problem on both the Magnum 500 and Expedition since they both shared the same rear end was the prop shaft coupler stripping out not allowing power to the rear drive. It has a grease zerk that people over look, the coupler dries out and strips the splines.Item #18 is the coupler.http://shop.cyclepartswarehouse.com/...00&fveh=285561

I could be wrong but I assumedon't that sense I changed the gears with my foot it was a Manuel trans. Also another thing was when I put the quad in AWD the front drive shafts would turn jus like the back but the tires would not move. So both the front and back props spin but no tire movement. Thanks for any help

The front drive shafts just turn even in awd mode and the tires just free wheel until the rear tires slip. When this happens the front hubs lock in and the drive shafts and tires act as a single unit and pull along with the rear tires. It's designed that way to only kick in when needed and kick back out when the rear tires can handle the load. A ground problem may be the cause of the front hubs not kicking in also. Some have done this.
The mechanical part of the hubs must be in good working condition also along with the electrical.
Don't over look the rear coupler though if the rear prop shaft just turns and the rear wheels don't...

This 5 buck manual can help you more than anything. Doesn't matter what year(2000-2002) as all the Expeditions were the same. 2002 Polaris Xpedition 425 Service Manual PDF Download

Only three Polaris models that had foot shift transmissions. The centrifugal wet clutch 5 speed Expedition 325/425 and the manual clutch 5 speed Predator 500 and Outlaw models. Neither of these could ever be confused with an Expedition let alone a Magnum

If its a foot shift, it has to be one of the Expedition models like OPT said. Until the Predator came out, that was Polaris only attempt at a non-cvt auto quad or side by side for that matter. I had actually forgotten there was both a 325 and 425 Expedition, I only remember the 425cc model. The only time I ever saw one was at a dealer showroom, I never knew anyone who owned one. Most would buy the Sportsman 500 instead as they were about the same price.
