Exclamation 02 Sportsman 700 twin idles smooth and stalls upon acceleration

My 02 Sportsman 700 has a new problem of the engine stalling when I try to accelerate. The engine cranks easy and idles smooth, but it cuts out bad when I give it gas. As the motor warms up, it seems to get some better. I can pull the choke slightly upon hitting the gas and it does ok. After getting RPM's up a little, she runs fine. I have new plugs, carb boot and even changed the carb itself. Any ideas please?

If you still have the Ducati ignition then that would more than likely be the problem. Some would idle ok,wouldn't accelerate like yours, would pop back and die. Some have even killed their machines only to come back later and they wouldn't start. Kokusan ignition update kits have been out for these for years now. Several videos on how to install them are around.

There is another kit out there besides the Kokusan #2202602 that's a lot cheaper, but it uses the Ducati stator lighting coil for the source of the ignition.I've had lighting coils go out also and if they do then you're stuck..Best to do it right and change out the entire system rather than mix match these ignition parts.
