You cannot buy a tuner for anything for $100, Ryan's price is average for what tuners charge.

A handheld for vehicles are just as much, or more.

There is a ton of R&D invested in writing a tune, and countless hours on a dyno.

I'm not implying he's trying to rip people off, the idea of spending hundreds to get extra hp seems like extra effort to effectively be at the same cost as the 570 without having to do anything. The whole idea behind buying the less expensive model is to save money. By spending extra to gain more power, you lose the one advantage it has over the more powerful but more expensive model.

By tuning the 567cc 450 you outpower the 570. Plus the 450ho has throttle by wire, which is superior to the old cable on the 570.

Other than smaller tires wnd throttle by wire, its identical to the 570.

I guess you have a point there. Maybe not a bad idea to buy the 450HO and do the ecm reflash after all. It would be interesting to see a head to head comparison of a stock 570 vs the tuned 450HO, just for fun.

I am interested in finding out if the increased hp increases the heat.

From what i undersrand, the polaris muffler is super restrictive and the source of heat issues on the 850.

I have heard the heat issues were resolved on the 850 and 1000 by swapping out the stock exhaust for an aftermarket one. Probably would be a good idea to do that on the 450HO with the increased hp, along with better air filter as well. I just put a new battery on my Brute this weekend and replaced what appeared to be the original air filter with a foam twin air filter. I didn't realize how dirty the air filter was. It felt like I gained 5 hp.

The best airfilter is still the paper air filter. The oiled ones only empty your wallet faster. I had an oil type air filter, got sick and tired of washing and oiling it.

R2C has an air filter that you blow out and can re-use. The guys on the RZR forum are putting them to the test and they are holding up well.

Polaris put a new stainless steel exhaust system on the 850/1000, I think next year you will see the exhaust get updatdd on the 450/570.

If you look at that gigantic silencer on the 2016 1000 versus the 2017 exhaust you can see where a lot of the heat generated from.
