Default Polaris Sportsman 450 HO Mods

Hi there, I have a 2016 Sportsman 450 HO. Is there anyhting I can do to add more horsepower and overall performance? Is there Mods or adjustments that can be made to increase the horsepower and torque? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Supposedly you could swap out a Ranger ecm and jump power from 31 to 44 or so they say. "same engine 450 and 570 .... swap out a ranger ecm. The 570 Sportsman ecm wont work being the 570 has a throttle cable and the 450 is drive by wire ..."

Thank you for letting me know. Do you know where the ecm is located on the sportsman?

Should be under the front panel. Item #10 on the parts break down.2016 Polaris SPORTSMAN 450 HO (A16SEA45A1/A5/SEE45A1) Electrical, Switches, Sensors & Ecm | Cycle Parts Warehouse What's strange to me on all the posts that I've read on swapping out the ecms is that on this listing on ebay a fairly large amount of different models use this same ecm part number(4014125)besides the 450 which includes the Ranger 570 and even the 1000 turbo. I'm not completely sold on the fact that a simple swap out would do this or not without additional programming if that's possible..Look at the bottom of the listing at all models it supposedly fits..Polaris 2013-2017 Ranger RZR General XP 570 900 1000 Turbo ECM 4014125 New OEM | eBay

Can't remember the name of the place but saw them advertising. They reprogram the ecm's and can get the 450 to pull 570 specs. If I see it I'll let you know...

Contact Ryan at RVS Performance.

Depending on what tune you choose, 40 RWHP can be had.

Good luck and post back.

That's where I don't get the purpose of the 450 over the 570 other than possibly being better as a work horse or utility machine.Price between them is negligible.Isn't the first time I've read about people wanting more power on the 450 after they bought them.2016 Polaris Sportsman® 570 Camo ATVs just my It costs more to reprogram them than to just buy a 570 out right.

I looked at a non-camouflage 570 that costs $600 more than a 450 H.O. without EPS on either one and the 570 has bigger tires. I don't know if anything else is different besides the HP output and tires but I would have spent the extra money for the 570 if I was getting one.

I was kinda thinking the same thing. The ecm reflash costs $449 as I looked up the link. I would have expected maybe $100, $449 sounds ridiculously expensive. I think the 570 has a bit more suspension travel too. There's just not much difference in price.
