Changed the plugs. Changed the plug wires, drained the fuel tank. Checked the fuel pump it's pumping. Changed the inline fuel filter. Pulled and cleaned the carb. It was clean but what the heck I was right there. It started right up and ran for 1/2 a day. I let it cool down for a couple hrs. The outside temperature dropped again below freezing. Started doing the same thing again. I will try your idea about the heat gun on the cdi box tomorrow and keep you posted.

I put a heat gun to the cdi box with no positive results. Any other ideas?

If you're positive it has fuel supply, have pulled the black wire from the cdi when this happens and doesn't help, but cranks up and runs good when temps are warmer, about the only thing I have left is to use electrical grease on the connections. If that doesn't help then down load the 5 buck 2004 manual I referenced in my first post and check out the stator and trouble shooting guides. That should at least help in narrowing down this problem. You mentioned charging was good back to the battery, but I happened to think that some other machines had this one spark condition and the regulator was the problem. This is something that the manual can help you check out also.
