#1
Im in the search for a atv and I am realitivly new to this sport. So i dont knowthat much about the differnt models. I though have found I believe a 95or96 400 scrambler, They want $3000, Its in mint condition is it worth the money? And also is there any major year changes that I should be aware of?

I bought a used 95 and here is a couple of things to look for:
Steering tightness: Look at the lower post bearing for sloppiness. A fix is easy to buy, but you need to buy it and install it.
Swingarm tightness: Check for play.
Check Axle straightness.
You will probably need to replace the brakes, and bearings in the 2 bearing carriers.
About $1000 if done at the dealer. Perhaps a buddy can help you.
You should check out other wear items for replacement.
Remember you are buying a 5 year old machine, and it will need some maintenance.
Good Luck
