Welcome back Polaris---Hello Raptor
#1
Well I got the Scrambler back Saturday. Thank you to Polaris and my dealer. The transmission was replaced (would have been $1,250). The new one is a new design. It has "closer tolerances" (whatever that means) and it has 3 additional gussets cast into the mold for the case. It "looks" much stronger. I wish I had taken before and after pictures for both my own memory and for sharing with all of you. I was very happy to go riding on the Scrambler last weekend.
Know for the rest of the story. Same dealer called and said he had a black and white Raptor in. I loaded up the Trailblazer and worked a trade. I did not do as well as I would have liked but the Raptor is sitting in the garage tonight. Went for a quick ride and all I have to say is that I have a lot to learn. It will take a while to get used to. I think that I have the best of both worlds and the debt to prove it.
See Ya

Hi Brian:
I am planning on going to silver lake. If for some reason I can not I will see you at the badlands (if that is still in your plans). I forgot to pay my Internic fee for my dtsr.com domain. I will be paying it soon. You can e-mail me at kdevitt@monroeguaranty.com. Talk (and see)to you later.

Go Kevin!! You know it's fun to cross over. Polaris is good place to come from. They are good quads that handle great and are fun and easy to ride. But when you want something out there on the wild side you just gotta break ranks.
Well Done!
I just put new softer shocks on my DS and a Raptor is almost here. The DS has soaked up more neccessaries than I thought it would. The Raptor probably will too. Yeah you gotta learn to ride these things but they need training too.
We figure wheel spacers or a new wider rear axle is a must for the Raptor. Our Durablue 2+2 Eliminator arrived today with nerf bars, beating the Raptor itself. A-arms, front shocks, XCT tires
could all be neccessary to get this new bronco saddle ready. The DS was a nasty wild stallion at first ride. I can't believe they call these sand machines with the stock steering geometry.
It was awful in sand. No way enough castor, and toed way out. Timmy Boy upper A-arms solved that and high speed wander(plus a good shadetree alignment).
I was impressed when I rode the Raptor on a good test ride up a favorite wash/canyon/trail.
It didn't seem as fast or as stabile as the DS. But it was quick, nimble and sure footed. IT did not feel tippy and was better in the sand at high speed than I expected. With a little work I think they will be fantastic. Lighter and reverse
are modifications you can't make to the Bombardier.
