I know i havnt seen that either he was the second owner and said it was some kind of special edition i will have to decode the vin when i get time to see what it really is and from what i can tell not very many 04 were EFI, it only has 7166 mi and is in good shape but i will have to learn how to ride it as it is far different than my xpedition i think traction is gonna be an issue lol

2004 was the first year model to have efi on the 700. It did have chrome plated rims versus the steel rims on the carb models as shown in this comparison chart. https://www.powersportsnetwork.com/e...le2=7228&go=Go What threw me off on your atv was that I couldn't see if it had the "EFI" sticker on the headlight pod but I saw the chrome plated rims.

Well, that's a new one on me. That says the EFI 700 has radial tires instead of Goodyear Rawhide Grips. The chrome wheels would help draw your attention to them. For some reason it's listed as 20 pounds lighter. Besides all the other advantages of EFI it's supposed to have 15% better fuel economy at normal operating speeds. Probably a little bit more horsepower too. My 500 H.O. EFI is supposed to have something like 1.5 more HP than the 500 H.O. carb model. That would only be about 4% more.

What got me when i bought it is i was expecting a carb then i noticed that there was no fuel shut off then i saw the efi diagnostic port on the pod and of course when i turned it on i heard the fuel pump, so i dont really know.

No big deal. Shows them on the parts break but NLA like a lot of decals are for machines this old.Previous owner probably removed them or power washed them off.

is the Rotella T6 still the best oil to run in this machine or is there better since the oil does not have to be clutch safe?

My two cents worth is that it's the best synthetic around for multiple applications. Heavy duty oil that's jaso rated also, plus it's cheaper than a lot of synthetics. Just google t6 for atv/cycle use and look at all the comments.I even use it in my Kohler engine in my Cub Cadet riding mower and have been for several years now.
