Most meters measure down to 0.1 Ω, and some measure as high as 300 MΩ (300,000,000 ohms). Infinite resistance (open circuit) is read as “OL” on the Fluke meter display, and means the resistance is greater than the meter can measure. Set your meter at the highest setting and work down and see what it shows. Auto ranging meters cost more but take the hassle out of switching settings. I'd still think the regulator as they did have problems on them and they changed twice on the same 2004 year model as far as oem regulators. Resistance on the 2005 stator yellows show around 0.19 ohms resistance between each other.

I am using a fluke auto ranging meter i will start with the rectifier first as its cheaper and it appears that it has the one without a heat sink, thanks more to follow

That'd be my suggestion also. You might call on the Caltric regulator to see if it's compatible with the 2004 as it is considerably cheaper than the other one I listed.

I may look at it but i wouldnt want to do it twice and the one you listed has a heat sink and we all know heat kills electronics lol thanks again i will post how it goes!

That's what your original one had,one big heat sink,Item#24. I'd still think either regulator(if the Caltric connectors are the same) would work at 39 bucks versus 89 on the other.

Ok so i got the caltric regulator and put it on and have noticed that it charges more at an idle than when i bring the rpms up at 4000 rpm it is only charging 10.96 and the battery light will still flash until i let it idle then it charges 11.18 and the light will go off does this indicate a stator issue and if so which is the best one to get that is resonably priced, thanks

That's the troublesome part on the first year efi stator. I'd trust Ricks, more expensive, but TWO stators were used.https://ricksmotorsportelectrics.com...-Stator-21_558 https://ricksmotorsportelectrics.com...-Stator-21_559 Plus one other place that's reliable that says this one will fit is DB Electric which I'd call first to make sure.https://www.dbelectrical.com/product....html#app-list Anything listed on ebay other than these two(I know they are cheaper) may or may not work.
