Anything I need to watch out for or do other than what you said? It's been a few years since I replaced a stator. Will a steering wheel puller work?

You can get a heavy duty harmonic balancer puller kit at most major auto houses with a refundable deposit. Check for any oil leaks coming from the stator plate. If that's ok,just replace the stator. Here's a good video on pulling a flywheel. On a 700 in a dune buggy but same procedure.

Since the old stator is junk and removed you can use the stronger brake cleaner rather than electrical contact cleaner. Just don't spray any directly on the seal(#8) on the stator plate.Scotch Brite is fine to use on the engine case and cleaning the flywheel inside and out.

is there any type of lube I can use on the Bendix and also how do you clean The Recoil rope? I have also noticed on quite a few sportsmans that after you start the motor with the electric start you can hear a chattering which I'm assuming is probably a weak spring on the Bendix? This one is currently doing that and it sounds. Awful LOL

You can clean the recoil rope by pulling it all the way out, clamp the rope at the housing nipple and spraying the rope with brake cleaner.Removes a lot of dirt and oil residue. When dry let it recoil back in. Replace the starter bendix as now is the best time to do it. Cheap on ebay or amazon.

Rpm signal is from the stator through the ecm. Glad that's working now with the new stator along with it charging correctly.
