Idle RPM on 2004.5 Sportsman 600
Would anyone know the best idle RPM for a 2004.5 Sportsman 600 . Right now its at 1400-1420 and it seems to shift from Low to reverse kind of hard when plowing . I know the Idle RPM should be a little higher in this cold weather , but I dont want to screw anything up in my trans . or linkage .I droped the idle down to 3200-3300 and it shifted alot smoother but I had a hard time keeping it running after a cold start until it warmed up fully .Im just afraid Im going to ruin something .

I have a 2004.5 700 and it just doesn't want to idle. As soon as you take of the choke it stalls, so I have to turn the idling up. Then once it warms up I have to turn the idling down again. Does anyone have that problem with there 2004.5 700's?? I would also like to now if I would be able to fit 26x9x12 ITP 589's on the from and 26x12x12 ITP 589's on the rear of my bike without having to put a lift kit on it?
Thanks Justin

welcome to the forums sportsmanguy, check the gallery for bullet67. he has pics of his quad with the 26" kit on it. the whole rpm idle, choke, carb changes thing is why I bought the EFI. but maybe you should contact the dealer and have them install the cold start carb update. you can put in a search for cold start and there is a topic on it
