AWD 2003 Polaris Sportsman 400 AWD not Working

Not too much to check on the cage other than making sure the cam ramps the bearings up smoothly,no wear or gouges in the cage sides and the garter spring isn't loose from wear.Another thing to check is to make sure the cutouts at the bottom of the cage aren't worn where the plate tabs go.

Default AWD not engaging

Found the problem........This inner ring and outer ring of the front hub was way out of tolerance. Got them back to within .001 inch and both AWD's worked great.

If you just tapped them in,possible the hub seal sleeve can move again. The sleeve is originally siliconed in place. Ooops,link isn't showing much.. I'll find another.

Yes, I had to tap them to get them to within tolerance. Pretty simple fix.

If it moves again and cause engagement problems,I'd just replace the seal sleeve and silicone a new one in. The link I wanted to post is nla and really showed how to install a new one. Here's a good video on to take one off and not damage the coil.
