No more of a problem on the 2010 500 than any other model as far as charging. You said the stator is showing 50 ac volts, plus resistance between the yellows are showing 0.6 ohms.No yellow shorting to ground Touch the meter leads together and what ever resistance is showing deduct it from the .06. If it's within 10% or so of the reading from the manual(0.43),it may be a faulty regulator if you bought one of those cheap Chinese Caltric regulators or one similar. I'd trust a regulator from this place more than ebay or amazon. Regulator Rectifier Sportsman 500 HO Polaris Just retrace your steps on the stator checks/tests to make sure that the stator is ok before you order anything.

I just went through a similar situation with a 2005 sportsman 400. Overcharging up to over 19v. I replaced the ecm and it didn't fix it. Got another ecm from dealer to make sure it wasnt a faulty ecm out of the box. Still didn't fix it. So I pulled the stator out and sure enough there was a spot that arched out. Replaced stator with a cheap one from Caltric and it fixes the issue. Think it was under $50 for stator through Caltric on ebay
