shuts off when Turning left. Short?

This may sound stupid, but do you have a key ring with anything on it beside the key? One of my quads had a problem with shutting off at random when a tiny light on my key ring dragged across the top of the gas tank and turned the key just enough to shut off.

If it's not the ignition switch causing it to shut off, make sure you have 2 mm clearance between the etc contact points in the throttle housing. If the throttle lever slack is set too loose, turning left may increase the slack allowing the contacts to touch. This will kill the engine.Usually 1/8" slack at the throttle lever will allow enough clearance between the etc contact points. This is from the 800 manual. The 2008 500 manual shows the same thing. https://www.manualslib.com/manual/84....html?page=330 IF you need a cheap manual for service/repairs.http://polaris-atv.brssm.com/2008-Po...ce-Manual.html

All the turning back and forth can break wires between the pod and body.
