Exactly. 04 Sierra had 217,000 miles on it when traded, 11 had 113,000 miles on it when traded. New Ram will get the same treatment.

Not sure what your owners manual calls for. Mine calls for Polaris Premium Synthetic 0W40 (02 Sportsman 700) but since they don't make that anymore now Polaris says to use Polaris PS4 5W50.

As others have stated use a good quality FULL SYNTHETIC and I'd say you can probably use 0W40, 0W50 (pretty expensive usually), 5W40 or 5W50.

I use the NAPA gold filter which is made by Wix. I also run Mobil One 0w40 synthetic. I buy my stuff from a local lube wholesaler. I can change my oil in the four strokes I have for less than 15 bucks a machine. My wife's sportsman 500 has 6000 miles on it and still runs like new.
