Some you could turn around, later models were curved to where they fit only one way.Plus even if you can not a good idea as that could snap the remainder off. Epi helix(stationary ramps as they're formally called) looks like they're sold just with the clutch kit.I thought you could get them separately, but nope. Kit costs almost as much as new clutch for your Xplorer. 250 bucks and it's just for the helix and a spring. Just keep a look out on your clutches.
Yeah i did some looking as well and only found kits. I guess we will see what happens. Doubt it will get worse, hopefully not anyway. I did find an oem helix for 60.
So i thought rhe clutch was working fine, then i was riding it today and the first things it did was stick. So back in i went. Getting pretty familiar with this by now haha. Is there a chance the bushings are sticking? They arent tight, but wasnt sure if that is a possibility. Here is the buttons after that long ride yesterday.
Just another note, the long ride was several hours on trials, so lots of slowing down, then running wot. So quite a bit of action on those buttons and the helix.
So that needs to be replaced? But why would that keep it from working?
Oh it would work ok for a while but if the ramps aren't smooth they can chew buttons up,not just glide over them as they're supposed to do. Didn't like the looks of the helix when you first posted it. Ground down especially on one side. Worn clutch main bushing could have been part of that if it was wobbling. If they give you new buttons and the same thing happens again, get a new helix or good used one on ebay.
