How often do you guys have to replace the buttons on the secondary clutch? Do you keep an extra set on hand?

Getting ready for a trip to the Little Sahara so i thought I should check up on the clutches and see how the secondary was doing. Have ridden it a fair amount since it blew up last. However the buttons have a nice flat approach to them, and I used some gear paint to see where the helix was hitting the buttons. About a quarter inch of the helix has paint. Does this look normal?

For those who check this, I am at a loss. Leaving tomorrow for dunes and suddenly the clutch decides to drop the inner bushing out of the sheave, locking the clutch open. It was red- locktighted in even. Is the best option for a replacement used? New is almost 300.

NICHE brand clutches are a lot cheaper than OEM. They have primaries on amazon that look just like Polaris clutches except for the name. You should be able to get them other places too. I haven't seen any secondaries from them. A lot of Polaris non-EBS clutches were the same, except for the weights and spring.

Ok. Probably going to do a quick rebuild and then sell it. Kinda tired of this thing breaking down anyway. Got my eyes on a 2014 Kawasaki 750 twin, efi.
