Exclamation polairs sportsman 500 ho 2010

My sportsman is fouling plugs. Trying to figure out what's going on. Or get n idea on where to look or check. It starts n idles fine put it under a load n it bogs down n wont go over 20mph. Could my choke not be adjusted right? Where should the choke be set.

the enrichner(choke)if it's still the same in the newer bikes should have a little slack in the cable to make sure the plugger is seated all the way. make sure the air box or filter is not blocked causing it to suck more fuel then air as well. has the carb had any adjustments done like raising the needle or changing the jets/

Iv have had the carb apart about a month ago when it started acting up and thought I had it straighted out and was riding it around our house and it started doing the same thing. You wouldnt happen to know what position the needle needs to be in or what the jet size should be it's all stock except for a foam air filter. I have also read that some of the sportsmen had issue chewing up the cans. But couldn't find anything about what years.

Also in order to tell of the enrichner was closing completely I'd take the top off the carb and should see no opening correct unless I pull it open? And if so I'd screw it in towards the carb to close it correct?

you would have to look up the parts list to see the stock jets but i'm guessing they would be stock unless some one changed it for high elevation or an aftermarket exhaust and air filter. the plunger would be bottomed out yes. think of your old "xlt" that you had and it would be the same style choke set up and the same with the throttle override not being too tight. when you had the carb apart did you make sure the needle/seat where good and the float was set right. does it act the same way in high and low range and bogs right out and revs fine while in neutral?

The jets are stock jets. Thoes are the numbers on them.and it will rev right up in neutral. And will do what you stated above in low and high range. As for needle/seat and float everything seems to be moving freely and nothing bent. I'll have to fiddle around with it Friday or this weekend.

Update.
put carb back together adjusted choke so there is a little play in it before it opens up like u stated above. Drove it around. For half hr 45 mins only acted up once when I first started riding around. Gonna pull the plug n check it n put new plug in and ride it around for a while.

one other question at what rpm should it be idling at. When warmed up its idling around 1500 to 1600 rpm. Seems a little high to me
