Hey guys, I'm looking at buying a 2000 Xpedition 425. I test rode it a week ago and was initially turned off at the lack of power. The only other atv I have ever spent any amount of time on is an 01 trailboss 325. That being said I am a novice to these machines but not to wrenching.

Do the Xpedition have a really short 1st gear? It seemed VERY lazy and lacking throttle response. I would have expected a much crisper throttle. It idles and revs fine from idle, but seemed to not gain rpm? I didn't even take it out of 2nd as I thought something was wrong and did not want to damage someone else's stuff. Any help would be great.

Also if you have ever had one, chime in and give me some feedback. I would prefer an auto atv but am not ruling out the manuals. Thanks guys.
