Lift kits
#1
Ive
been back and forth on this one. My 2015 sportsman touring850 is no longer under the extended warranty and I’m thinking I’d like to gain a little more ground clearance Not to mention lose some tire scrub under hard dips on the trail. What are your experiences with say a 2 inch lift and what brands do you like. I’ve been looking at the high lifter or for just a little more super ATV. My biggest concern is wearing out CV joints prematurely. My machine sitting next to my buddies who is a single seat definitely has a Shorter stance than his and I only wonder if this is because of the longer wheelbase what are your thoughts?

if you do put a lift in, I wouldn't go much more then the 2" you mention or you will start to have front end wear issues. I have read a lot of people you used the high lifter kits and no bad feed back

I took lift and width kits out. They caused me nothing but issues. Ate CV boots on the back and front axles like candy. Also has to do the front diff seals twice. Took the front off and the leaky seals are dry as a bone now.

Its kinda par for the course if you put a lift kit on, your cv joints are going to wear out faster. I'm sure you could gain a little extra capability by going to a slightly larger and more agrressive tire without putting on a lift. It would firm up that plush ride no doubt as well.
