hard start

Default hard start

2001 polaris xplorer 250 4x4 2 stroke starts hard when you get it running it acts like a 4 stroke when it's loading up but never clears leave off the throttle it dies. crank seals, carb ?

how does the plug look, wet? with 2 strokes it could be the carb, but could be lack of compression as well. do a compression check if you can and it should be around 125 psi but no lower then 100. would not hurt to clean the carb and also make sure the chock plunger is closing all the way in the carb so no extra gas is going in. I would start there . do the compression check on a cold engine.
